We would like to introduce to you our owner, Ric Maready. Many of you may know and may have done business with Ric in the past. He has worked in Wilmington for the past 24 years, first in automotive sales and since 1997, in the motorcycle industry. Ric started riding motorcycles in 1971. Although through the years, he was not always able to ride as often as he would have liked to, he never lost his love for motorcycles.
He later became involved in the sales profession, never dreaming that it would one day lead him into the motorcycle industry. After 20+ years working in sales, that’s exactly what happened. In 1997, Ric was offered the position of Sales Manager with a local powersports dealer. As the company grew, so did Ric’s responsibilities and experience. He was eventually promoted to General Sales Manager by the dealer and his responsibilities included overseeing the sales departments for a 5-store operation.
After 35 years in business, the company Ric was working for closed its doors, leaving Ric with some uncertainty as to what he was going to do in the future. With his love and appreciation for motorcycles and those that enjoy riding motorcycles, it didn’t take him long to make a decision. That decision was to make every effort to remain involved with motorcycles and those in the motorcycle community by opening his own motorcycle shop. With the support of family and close friends, that is exactly what he did in 2013.
Big Boy’z of North Carolina is small in size but big on satisfying our customers. We depend on “Word of Mouth” as our #1 advertising source. While today Ric’s business is small, it is his sincere desire to grow to the extent that Big Boy’z is not just another motorcycle shop selling motorcycles in Wilmington, but the #1 motorcycle shop in Wilmington for community support and involvement.
Since opening in April, Ric has been overwhelmed by the support he has received from many of his friends in the local motorcycle community as well as the new friends he has made during this time. In Ric’s own words….”We are thankful for where we came from and excited about where we are going. We believe the future is bright for our motorcycle community and for Big Boy’z of North Carolina”. Call or stop by today. Ric would appreciate the opportunity to meet and speak with you!
